Talk to a doctor by video

Some things need a doctor, not a nurse. NORR works with Dr.Online, whose doctors are registered with the Irish Medical Council, and you book straight from this page. You speak from home, and you get a written summary afterwards.

Book a consultation

Pick a service and a time below. To have your blood test results explained, choose Online Doctor Consultation (GP) — that is the same consultation, used for your results. If you would rather arrange it by phone, call 087 915 4211 and the clinic will book it for you.

What you can use it for

• Your NORR results, explained. The most common reason people book — book it as Online Doctor Consultation (GP). You have a set of numbers; the doctor goes through what they show and what, if anything, is worth doing next.
• A second look at something. A symptom you have been putting off, a result from elsewhere, a question you did not get to ask at a rushed appointment.
• A prescription, where it is clinically appropriate. The doctor decides this during the consultation. It is not something you order in advance.
• A referral, if what you need is a specialist or a scan.

What it is not for

• Not for emergencies. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, sudden weakness or confusion — call 112 or 999, or go to the emergency department. Do not book a video call.
• Not a guaranteed prescription. The doctor prescribes only where it is clinically appropriate, and sometimes the answer is no. You are paying for a doctor’s time and judgement, not for a specific outcome.
• Not a replacement for your GP. It works alongside one. If you have a GP, the doctor can send them a summary.

How it works

1. Choose a time in the booking panel above. You will see the doctors’ real availability and pick a slot that suits you.
2. Send anything relevant beforehand. If you are reviewing NORR results, have them to hand. If you have results or letters from elsewhere, send them ahead so the time goes on the conversation rather than on reading.
3. The consultation takes place by video. You need a phone or laptop with a camera and somewhere private to sit.
4. Afterwards you get a written summary, and a prescription or referral if one was issued.

Price

Online Doctor Consultation (GP) — €45. This is the consultation to book if you want your NORR blood test results explained, or for any other GP question.

Common questions

Is the doctor registered in Ireland?

Yes — consultations are provided by Dr.Online, whose doctors are registered with the Irish Medical Council.

Can I get a prescription?

Where it is clinically appropriate, yes, and it is sent to you electronically. The doctor makes that call during the consultation. For legal reasons this site cannot list which medicines can or cannot be prescribed.

Do I need to have had a blood test at NORR?

No. The results review is the most common reason people book, but you can book a consultation on its own.

Is it private?

Yes. The call is between you and the doctor. Agnes does not sit in, and your consultation notes are not shared with the clinic unless you ask for that.

What if I need a physical examination?

The doctor will say so, and refer you to someone who can carry one out. A video consultation has limits and a good doctor names them.

Can I get a sick certificate?

Yes. Sick leave is one of the services you can book in the panel above. The doctor decides whether to issue a certificate during the consultation, as with any other clinical decision.

What if I cannot get the booking panel to work?

Call 087 915 4211 and the clinic will book the consultation for you.
